Hi, I'm Sophia
Welcome! I'm a Northern New York portrait photographer based near Fort Drum, and I believe the best photos are the unposed in-betweens — the laugh, the lean-in, the quiet moment a family settles into being themselves.
The name Back to Us is close to my heart. So many of the families I photograph are coming back together — after a deployment, a move, a long season apart. My goal is simple: to give you images that feel like you, that you'll still love decades from now.
Back to Us is a proud woman-owned and Latina-owned small business. I love working with our Fort Drum military families — I can even meet you for an on-post session. Wherever we end up, my hope is the same: photos that feel like home.

Every session includes professional editing and a private online gallery to view, share, and download your high-resolution images. Based in the Fort Drum / Watertown area — travel beyond the North Country may add a small fee. Not sure which fits? Reach out and we'll figure it out together.
Good to Know
I'm based in the Fort Drum / Watertown area and photograph across the North Country — parks, downtowns, the lakeshore, your home, or wherever feels like you. I can also meet Fort Drum families for on-post sessions. Travel beyond the local area may add a small fee.
Pick the session that fits, answer a few quick questions on the booking form, and choose a date and time that works for you. A non-refundable retainer reserves your date, and you'll get an instant confirmation.
Coordinate rather than match — soft, solid tones and a few complementary colors photograph beautifully. Bring options if you're unsure, and feel free to ask; I'm always happy to help you plan outfits before the shoot.
Your fully edited images arrive in a private online gallery, typically within 2–3 weeks. I'll usually share a sneak peek or two before then. From the gallery you can view, share, and download your high-resolution images to print and keep.
Weather happens! If conditions won't work for an outdoor session, we'll simply find a new date. If something comes up on your end, reach out as soon as you can and we'll get you rebooked.
Yes — a non-refundable retainer secures your date and time, with the balance due by the day of your session. Full booking details are in the terms & conditions.
